“Laura” es una obra figurativa cuya intención es representar la belleza de una musa con todas sus imperfecciones y desequilibrios que en su conjunto la hacen bella. La modelo retratada carece de brazo y de un rostro completo definido, dando así a la obra un desequilibrio inquietante para el espectador.
La musa como tal no pretende adoptar la imagen del estereotipo perfecto de belleza femenina tan característico de la figuración, pretende desmontar los esquemas de las corriente escultórica clásica y recordarnos que todas las personas son bellas a pesar de sus rarezas, no existe un cuerpo perfecto e igual y por tanto las musas no tienen porque serlo.
“Laura” is a figurative piece which intention is to represent the beauty of a muse with all her imperfections and imbalances that all joined together make her beautiful. The portrayed model lacks an arm a fully-shaped face, making a non-balanced piece that disturbs the viewer.
The muse as itself doesn’t pretend to adopt the perfect stereotype of feminine beauty such as the main characteristic in classical figurative sculpture. It tries to deconstruct the patterns in classicism and remind us that everybody has its beauty although its imperfections, it doesn’t exist a perfect body and therefore muses neither have to be.
